Last year at the MarketingProfs Digital Mixer, I attended Rohit Bhargava‘s book signing, along with a bunch of other fun folks, for his new book, Personality Not Included. He explained how he came up with the idea and what makes it different than other marketing/business books. The biggest thing that you’ll notice is that the book is split up into two parts. Part I consists of several stories and real-life examples on why personality matters. Where Part II brings it to life as every story in Part I is linked to an action guide in the second part. It definitely makes for an interesting read and one you’ll be able to pull actionable items from.
Anyway, what led me to wanting to do this giveaway is because I feel it’s a great read and definitely a book you should have in your collection (no, Rohit didn’t pay me to say that). Plus, I have several copies of it and would love to share the wealth with one of my awesome readers. Among the copies are a signed one from Rohit himself but that one won’t be up for grabs. What I will do, though, is give one lucky person a chance to win one of the regular, non-signed copies of Personality Not Included.
How to Win
- Leave a Comment – Tell me why you’d want this book in your library. Tell me you like Rohit, tell me you like chickens with sunglasses, or just say hi. Also, leave a valid e-mail so I can contact you if you’re the lucky winner.
- Subscribe – Be sure to subscribe to the RSS feed and watch for a follow-up with the winner!
- Choosing a Winner – The contest will close Thursday, January 29th and the winner will be chosen (and posted) Friday, January 30th, by the most humane way possible, random selection.
So, have at it – and good luck!
Update: Comments are closed and the winner will be announced Friday.

Well, I do like chickens…not as much as elephants but still chickens are cool.
I am a PR professional who has totally immersed herself in social media and is trying hard to get her agency/clients to do the same. I am loving Twitter! And, I am literally craving any and all information I can that will not only help my clients but re-energize me in my career. I have been doing this for about 15 years and 2009 is my year to move upwards and out of my comfort zone!
Thanks for your blog, comments on Twitter and being all around such a nice guy! (had to throw in a little flattery there!
I’m trying to read more books this year to improve myself personally and professionally – which is why I’d love to have this book!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Throw my name in the hat, please! I am always up for a good marketing read! Subscribed to your RSS, looking forward to catching up on your blog. Found you via a Tweet from @salmndr007!
Saw Rohit speak at a conference recently, was the most interesting part. Also looking to read more career related books this year, so hey, fingers crossed!
I’m currently working on a Twitter presentation for my office, and I’m including Rohit’s 5 stages of Twitter acceptance. Many are in stage 1. It would be nice to get even more insight from Rohit. Thanks for the giveaway!
Pick me! Pick me! I am the person who chooses reading over just about everything else. These kinds of books are my ‘crack’ (since I don’t actually smoke crack!). Would love to win. Thanks for the giveaway!
Can you send me one with the personality included? Seriously, I need a personality to take with me when I’m at CFB (Chic from Barcolenia) eating my Spanish infused spiced chicken and reading all the plates with chics on the wall. Is your or Rohit’s plate with a chick on the wall? As a nonprofit employee, I’m still trying to find our organization’s personality/voice and chicks always seem to help…especially those with rainbow mohawks and sunglasses (they help with the reflection you know). So I’m keeping my feathers crossed that I’ll win.
Just started following Rohit’s blog and am amazed by his insights. I know the title says “personality not included”, but I need am in need of a personality jolt.
And add to that I am somewhat of a book collector–so the signed copy would be a real memorable one.
Anyone who has the “personality” to use an example of a Playboy Bunny in a presentation and make it work, deserves a look…
This is a great way to promote a book. I truly wonder whether the blog/twitter/groundswell way of promotion will quickly become the only way in which books are promoted. Once the conversations start, and the content of the books are discussed in a transparent way, the best books rise to the top.
Great idea, and if I get picked for Rohit’s book, all the better.
I’m a big fan of Rohit’s, primarily because his thinking is original and positive. I always get the sense that he’d be a great person to have as a mentor.
And now I’m signed up on your RSS feed – as I should have been earlier.
great idea, sonny! i’d like to toss my name in the hat, por favor.
i’ve heard great things about the book and i think Rohit is a pretty smart guy.
Thanks for the book offer, Sonny. I’m interested because personality is one area of my professional life I neglect in favor of process and message. Yet in rock-paper-scissors, personality beats brains. I have enough brains to know I need more personality. Please send a copy of Rohit’s book!
I have a friend named Rohit that is pretty cool and I’ve also been following this Rohit on Twitter for a while without knowing much of anything about him. I like books, so put me in the drawing please.
Thanks for the offer!
This looks like a great read with loads of insight into today’s markets and marketing. I cringe when I hear someone say, “Nothing personal …”
Are you kidding me? It’s always personal.
I’ve heard a lot about the book & I’m trying to learn as much about marketing and media as possible. I have a lot to catch up on and a limited budget so this book would be a nice addition to my growing library.
Hi, Sonny. Thanks for this contest!
I’m interested in Rohit’s book because I’m starting to develop a more public-facing following and visibility and feel I can improve my interactions in Social Media. Always interested in marketing & Social Media topics!
Thanks,
– Ricardo G.
@ggroovin

Rohit is a very smart guy and this book is great, I highly recommend it. Yes, that means I already own an autographed copy (which I got with Sonny!)…I am just trying to stir up the pot and make you want the book even more.
Good luck folks! And Sonny, this is a brilliant idea!
I love all this emerging economy stuff.
This books been on my radar and I’m a big reader of business books. There’s nothing better the connecting ideas and trends from different books.
I’ve started slowly getting into Twitter and I’m now following Rohit

Alright, so I’m already subscribed to your RSS feed (your in my feed reader which is how I came across this). As I’m scrolling down in my feed reader I read the title to your previous post: “Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late” which is kinda funny considering I just finished reading the contest deadline.
Anyway, hope I’m still in and if “random selection” is nice to me, I’ll spread the wealth of knowledge the book has to offer
I like Rohit. Thanks for the giveaway!
